There’s something about linen that I’ve always liked. It’s somewhat elegant, but it’s also inherently casual — the slubby texture and the propensity for wrinkles keep it from ever becoming too precious. I love the subtleties in color shift that happen in a garment, and the way that it feels so natural. In the summer months linen is great because it’s super lightweight and breathable, but I also like it as a transition piece in the fall. This piece, with its longer sleeves and extra bit of weight made it the perfect option for a sunny Autumn day.
I found the shirt at Zara and picked it up for a song. It’s on trend with the color blocking theme that’s been everywhere, and I like how the black banding accentuates my shoulders. Makes me look broader, which I’m not complaining about. Paired with a pair of light washed jeans and a trust pair of Clarks desert boots, and the overall look is elegant and casual, perfect for hanging out or heading to business meetings over lunch.
