Located in NYC’s West Village, The Other Room is a great little wine and beer bar. Tucked down a side street street, it’s sort of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it, so be on the lookout for the sign.
A bit dark and mysterious, this is a great place for a date, especially as one wall is line in a high sofa, which makes side-by-side chatter that much more romantic, and slightly less awkward that the usual stare-downs that happen when seated across from each other. Or is that just me?
I didn’t think the prices were bad for the neighborhood. I spent $11 on a glass of Gavi di Gavi, which isn’t always the easiest to find in the first place. Chardonnay was likewise $11, and while I didn’t sample anything from the beer menu, I have to say, it did look pretty well rounded.
