There are few things more representative of Paris than the bakeries that are scattered throughout the city. They are open early in the morning, offering up a delicious aroma in the cool beginnings of day. Each has their specialties, some are better for pastries, some for sandwiches, and sampling new flavors is one of my favorite parts of exploring Paris.

There are a few locations in the city, but I visited the one in the 2eme arrondisment, at 10 Place des Petits Peres. Prices were considerably more to dine in the little cafe, which was, admittedly, beautiful. Not wanting to splurge, my friend and I got our sandwiches and sweets and made our way to the Palais Royale, where we sat for free in the gardens. Amazing sandwich, a garden, and sunshine? Heavenly.
