I’ve been on a bit of an 80s kick lately. I’m not quite sure, but I’m sure it has something to do with my recent desire to move to Miami Beach. Yes, I’ve been considering swapping out bagel sandwiches for beachside living, and I think my style has been responding accordingly.
I’ve always loved the street style proclivity for athleticwear styled in a more upscale way, which explains this pairing of mesh t-shirt with dressy vintage trousers. With the recent heatwave that’s rolled into New York (oh hi, humidity), the pairing has been perfect. Breezy up top, and while my legs are covered, the lightness of the trousers means I’m not sweltering.
You know me and my sunglasses — like Lucy and Ricky, they provide the spice to my otherwise classic style. These were $9 at H&M, proving you can have fun with inexpensive accessories to change things up.
And to kick it all of I went with an espadrille from Tom’s. I’m all about the stripe, which brings a St. Tropez vibe to the look, and in the summer months these shoes are easy on, easy off, effortless style. I love the different textures, and a good pair of espadrilles is a great way to step outside of routine.
