Bluebird Coffee Shop

It’s rare in New York when you come across a place that seems to take you to a whole different world, but that’s exactly what Bluebird Coffee Shop in the East Village does.

I had a meeting here one afternoon, and the sun was shining brightly in through the open wall of windows — not too bright, but just enough to make me ponder a cat nap while I awaited my cappuccino.

The space is minute, about the size of two office cubicles stuck together, but brick walls, reclaimed wood, and the warm smell of coffee make this a comfortable nook to spend a few minutes slowing down.
