There are macarons everywhere you look in Paris. Trust me, I probably had one of each. The best, in my opinion, are at Benoit Chocolats. Opened in November 2009 as an outpost of the original shop in Angers, Benoit Chocolats is a tiny, blink-and-you-may-miss-it establishment in the Marais, with a charming owner (who was quite polite with my rather inept French skills) and a beautiful selection of macarons and other sweets. The chocolate are my favorite — they’re fudgey in flavor, and yet somehow light and airy. Delectable, and only 1.10€.
