I’ll be honest here, there was a hot minute when I thought I was basically the first person to discover how awesome dry shampoos are. A quick Google search later and it turns out I’m not the first, but that is life and we live and we learn. And we buy dry shampoo.

Why? Because they’re easy, and they do double duty. First off, a quick spray is all it takes if your locks are looking a little oily. Boom, no need to shower, and you look like you have moderately respectable hygiene. Aim low and spray that dry shampoo, fellas!

Or, if you’re like me, you can use your dry shampoo after you’ve just washed your hair. Now I know that seems like it’s a little excessive, but what the dry shampoo actually does is give your hair that oh so chic “I don’t wash my hair” look without the gross and grime. Use the product to give your hair some texture, some body, and just a little bit of style. It’s bascially that “undone” look in a bottle, which is awesome.

A current favorite is the Aveeno Active Naturals Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo.

This was the first one I had ever tried, so maybe I still have puppy love going on, but I think it’s a great product. I love how it smells, and it’s easy to get just the right amount of product. I’ve read about some other dry shampoos being super hard to control, or smelling like chemicals and baby powder, and none of those issues can be found here. The Aveeno one smells super fresh and clean, but not in a manufactured kind of way — it just smells good, and that’s great by me.
