As the weather finally gets warmer, I’m all for those tank top moments. But on the occasional day where it’s a bit breezier, I find myself reaching for a good denim shirt. I’ve had this one forever and the reason it stays in my rotation is because it’s a great staple. The black is classic and the fit isn’t too skinny or too baggy, meaning it can take on a variety of looks.
For me this whole look is about keeping things simple. Simple shirt, simple jeans, and a solid pair of sunglasses. These might appear to be a pretty standard pair of sunglasses, and they sort of are, but I like to think of them as designed “just enough.” They’re classic, but there’s something special about them that makes them stand out. In real life they’re a bit heavy and I love that feeling of quality, especially in comparison to all of the $9 pair of glasses I have and love.
Europeans have been wearing espadrilles in the summer for generations, and I’m kind of sad that they haven’t caught on as much here in the States. What’s not to love about a comfy, summer slip on? The rope sole, the canvas sides, the summery stripe — I’m always excited when I can wear mine out because they mean that it is, officially, summer.
And you know, I’m definitely a “sun’s out, guns out” type. I am American, after all.
