Smack dab in the middle of Midtown is not where you would expect this little wonderland, but that’s where it is — right on 42nd street. Tudor City is a collection of apartments built in the ’20s atop a granite hill, meaning the entire area is actually raised up and separate from the rest of the city, at least enough to make you feel like you’re a world away. The park is maintained by the co-op that runs the apartment complex, but it’s open to the public. Although small, it’s enchantingly cozy, and also has nice views of the United Nations building.
