So I’m kind of a coffee snob, but then again, I suppose what self-respecting hipster isn’t, right? Anyway, when I find a good cup of coffee I get pretty excited, and I’m really excited about The Wholy Grain in Boston’s South End neighborhood. They serve Illy coffee, which is one of my favorites, and is warm and well-rounded, with a smoother flavor. Perfect for a cappuccino or iced coffee. Located on Shawmut Ave, this little place is new to the scene, yet it’s got some of the best offerings in the city, as far as I’m concerned, with a wide variety of baked goods, from muffins to foccacias to a breakfast stromboli (pictured above) that was both unexpected and delicious. I’ve only been here for breakfast, but I’m thinking I should head over for lunch in the immediate future — I’m excited to see what they’ll surprise me with! Oh, and there’s also an outdoor terrace, which is a perfect place to start your day in this quiet part of the neighborhood.
