The Neoprene T: Spring Beginnings

Spring has sort of arrived in the city. Some days it’s frigid and grey, and others it’s warm and sunny. But the trees have started sprouting leaves, the grass is finally green again, and flowers are sprouting up left and right. After an endless winter it’s finally looking like the weather is about to change for the better, and I’m super excited about it.

Neoprene is one of those things I think a lot of people overthink when they’re contemplating buying it. “But where would I wear it?” I’m sure people often think. I’ve worn this neoprene t shirt before — as you can see here — and this look is basically the same as before, but I swapped out the shoes and got a rather different effect. Since it’s still a bit cold, the neoprene acts as more of an insulator and it’s the perfect thing for when the weather is transitioning.

A quick cuff of the jeans gives things a more relaxed feel, and that oh-so-sexy peek of ankle is just enough to hint that warmer temperatures are on their way.

And finally, the shoes give a much needed pop of color. I love these from New Balance because they’re a rather simple shoe — no bells, no whistles — but the color is pretty explosive, and it’s one of my favorite colors. They’re also super comfortable, and go with everything, which makes them the perfect new purchase.
