The Birdseye Knit

I have no idea what the weather is doing, but I do know that I’ve been super busy and running around nonstop for the last few weeks. While dressing better definitely does improve my mood, sometimes all I want is to throw on a sweater and be done with it.

When the weather gets colder I gravitate towards brighter colors, and electric blue is one of my favorites. I was at a vintage store when I found this sweater, and I fell in love with the color and print — it’s kind of loud and crazy, but somehow still feels calm and put together.

It’s a real loose knit, which means it drapes nicely and doesn’t make you feel like you’re being suffocated. The pattern is totally different from what I’ve been seeing lately, and the cuffs and collar are really great details. Since it’s “only” a sweater, the details are key.

The glasses are from Forever 21, and at $5, I’m all about them. They keyhole frame is one of my favorite silhouettes for glasses, and I think they add a great finishing touch.

I threw on a pair of jeans and a favorite pair of sneakers, and this is my idea of casual.
