Technicolor Grunge

I’ve always been a creature of habit, and I feel like I’ve shot various verisons of this outfit before. But it’s something I keep coming back to over and over, so here we are. Here the flannel-jeans-grunge look gets a twist with a technicolor shoe, and  a tank top and a breezy pair of jeans give this look the perfect summer update.

And, as always, it’s all about the sunglasses. When the whole look is basically monochrome, adding a color in an accessory is a great way to spice things up. Remember, as in life, moderation makes the sweet taste sweeter. These bad boys are the Neptune from SpyOptic and I love the oversized square frame.

I’ve never really been one for super ripped up jeans — I can already hear my grandmother telling me I’m crazy for these — but I’ve always loved seeing them on other people. The ones I tried never felt quite right until these came into my life, and while they’re definitely not my everyday jeans, I do love them for something a little bit different.

The shoes are some of my favorites and you’ve seen them with a variety of different looks. Yellow shoes are kind of my thing, and I love the unexpected pop of color they add. And I always get compliments on them. Need an ego boost? Get a pair of yellow shoes — you’ll thank me later.
