Sweater Season

I think today may have felt like the very first day of Fall, officially. I’ve become quite a summer baby, and every time the winter inches closer I think more and more of summertime spent at the beaches. But I do love Autumn, with its changing leaves and crisp air. The mulled cider isn’t half bad, either. And as much as I love my t-shirts and tank tops, this is sweater season.

This was a thrift store find I picked up a few years ago, and it’s become one of my favorites. I love the shoulders because I like to think they have a bit of the Balenciaga shape to them, and the construction is my favorite baseball-style, raglan sleeve, which I think is universally flattering on all guys. It makes your shoulders look big and broad — meaning you look big and strong.

These are a pair of my favorite shoes, even if I never get the chance to wear them anymore. They’re a suede saddleback, which I’m kind of crazy about because they’re so unusual. They’re quietly sophisticated, and yet they add a bit of a casual edge to the look. I like mixing casual and formal elements in what I wear, since I feel like it’s more of an effortless look.
