I’m all about a good story, and I think the reason I love flea markets so much is there are so many unique objects that you just know have a great backstory. There’s history and mystery, and I love spending my time wandering through exploring things.
The SoWa Open Market in the South End of Boston is one of my favorite places to spend such an afternoon. I’ve spent many of my weekends here, wandering in and out of the stalls, looking over old lithographs, vintage furniture, and the jewelry counters. Antique busts, old postcards, furniture, old canvases. There’s always something different.
While during the colder months the fair takes place indoors, during the summer months things expand to the outdoors, when crafters set up tents outside and there’s a caravan of food trucks to appease the palette.
