When I’m feeling a bit bored with my usual shampoo routine I go for the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger shampoo, since it makes my hair feel great, and it smells amazing. This is designed to hydrate, protect, and helps to repair and rebuild dry, brittle hair. Most guys keep their locks short, and I’m now one of those people, and I do find that my hair feels super soft and refreshed when I use this.
The consistency is a bit “goopy” and feels more like a hair mask than a traditional shampoo. There’s a stickiness to this that isn’t good or bad, it’s jut a part of the experience. That said, I do end up treating this more like a mask and using a bit more and letting it just sit on my head for a while longer while I’m in the shower.
I like that this shampoo doesn’t leave my hair feeling stripped, but instead gives my hair a bit more volume. It really does living up to the moisturizing title, and I think this is a nourishing shampoo. My hair is super straight, and this gives me a lot of texture, which means my hair is easier to style.
For me the pull on this is also the scent — it’s intoxicating, and a great way to start the day. The ginger is super crisp and fresh, and there’s just an overall freshness to this that I don’t find in most shampoos.
