My family likes to tell the story about how when I was 5 we couldn’t go anywhere unless there was a case of juice boxes in the back of the car. So I’ve apparently always had a thing for juices.
As I’ve gotten more into health and wellness I’ve left behind my Juicey-Juices and have instead been focused on fresh pressed options, which pack in way more nutrients than sugary options. These are super fresh and while they can be somewhat pricier, they’re an indulgence I just can’t kick.
My favorites are the Royal Red Juice (carrot, pear, pineapple, beet, orange, ginger, lemon) which is at once tart and refreshing, and loaded with antioxidants that help settle your stomach while also giving you a shot of energy from the natural sugars.
The Coconut Water is sublime, and super hydrating. I’ve tried a lot of different coconut waters — some have been downright awful — but the one at Organic Avenue is hands down my favorite. Take a sip and it’s like you have the whole fruit right in your hands.
Depending on the locations, there are also a variety of healthy and raw foods on offer. Likewise, there are a variety of booster shots you can get in the form of turmeric, wheatgrass and lemon juice shots (just to name a few), so this place has you covered on that regard.
The shops are bright and cheery and they’re all over New York. There are 10 locations, which you can find on their website: www.organicavenue.com
