I like products that you don’t need a lot of, since I feel like it just makes life that much simpler. And products last longer. When I first used the Michael Todd Charcoal Detox Cleanser, I put one pump of product in my hand, looked at it and thought “Hmm, maybe I need more?” So I did another pump and then applied to my face. Um, oops. This cleanser starts up as a nice, liquidy gel but it quickly lathers up into a really rich and luxurious experience. One pump will do ya just fine.

When I used this product I was really impressed by the way my face felt afterwards. It felt soft, supple, and the texture looks sublime. Kind of perfect. I haven’t used this product for months, but if this is how it looks after a week of use, then I’m pretty sure we’ll be in a committed relationship pretty soon.

This product says its best for acne-prone and oily skin types, of which I am neither, but it’s loaded with activated charcoal, which penetrates deeply into pores to draw out impurities. Charcoal is a renowned detoxifying agent, and here that power is directed right at your pores.

And I’ll be honest, I like how the charcoal makes this look. Kind of like sludge, but fancy sludge. And you get a nice lather from this product. Nothing super crazy, but enough to make you feel like you’re actually getting things done when you wash your face. But like I said before, a little bit goes a long way, since too much product (even just a bit) and you’ll be drowning in said lather.

Priced at $24, I think this is a great price point for an all-natural product.
