I think of myself as an entrepreneur. Every single day is a whole set of new challenges and opportunities, and every single morning I greet the day with fresh eyes. Or at least I always try to, but sometimes you need a kickstart to get you going again.
You have huge breakthroughs followed immediately by setbacks and disappointments, but that’s all part of the entrepreneurial cycle. Part of the gig is just learning how to balance them out, and how to take a step back and see the larger picture.
The days when I need to take a step back are the days I head to the coffee shop and get a coffee or a chai latte. And naturally that will lead me to a maple danish, which will lead me to a walk in the park, where I will sit on a bench in the sunshine and just relax. Decompress.
Or I’ll spend more time getting ready in the morning. When I’m feeling down I tend to look my best, because that’s a great source of inspiration. I’ll spend more time on my grooming, luxuriating in skincare, making sure that the crazy hair is looking a little more sane, a little more polished.
