Comfort in Contrasts

I know you hear me say it all the time, but my style is typically casual but pulled together. I’m all about jeans, and it’s typically never that you’ll find me in a button up. It’s just not me. That said, my ideas of dressing up are probably a bit more nuanced than most.

Like this outfit. I’m wearing a pair of jeans, a thermal from Gap, and a pair of leather boots. From the description it sounds like it would be super basic, and really casual. But it comes down to textures and fit.

The jeans are super slim and of a dark wash, making them feel more polished and put together. The Gap thermal is a bit heavier, yet its super well constructed with contrasting side panels, and it’s a bit of a cropped cut, making it look more intentional than the typical schlubby thermal. And the boots, well, the boots kind of make it. Leather with a bit of fringe detail, this is where it all comes together. Add in a pair of slick sunglasses from Arnette, and you have yourself a super polished, put together look.
