Brattle Street Books

The last time I was at Brattle Street Books in Boston, there was a rabbi shipping a collection of religious texts from the 1880’s back to Israel. I, however, opted not to pay the hundreds in shipping, and walked away with an illustrated guide to Capitals of the Globe. Complete with faded gilt embossing and references to cities and countries all but imagined nowadays — for $5. Inside you’ll find a wide variety of books on every subject imaginable, at a range of prices, but step outside you’ll find carts with books marked $1, $3, and $5. The books cover every subject you can imagine, from just about any and every era. You never know what you’ll find, or the condition it will be in, but that’s why I love it.
